The Search for Landslide Victims That Happened at Toba Samosir was stopped

Kabar Hub. The joint team from Basarnas, TNI and Polri stopped the search for a landslide victim, Sutan Marpaung (37). Sutan is a resident of Halado Village, Toba Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province.

"The search for three days, which was carried out by the joint team did not produce results for victims buried by landslides in Halado Village," said Head of BPBD Toba Samosi Herbet Pasaribu when contacted from Medan, as reported by Antara on Thursday (12/20/2018).

He explained that the joint team stopped the search for victims because it was in accordance with standard operational procedures and had been going on for more than seven days.

"But the Regency Government (Pemkab) of Toba Samosir continues to search for another day for the victims of the undiscovered residents of Halado Village," Herbet said.

He said the search was in accordance with the people's request to the Toba Samosir Regency Government. The search also involved BPBD Toba Samosir officers, Satpol PP, other relevant institutions, and assisted local residents.

"So, the search for victims does not involve the joint Basarnas, TNI and Polri teams anymore," he said.

Another victim of a landslide on behalf of Sutan Marpaung (37), a resident of Halado Village, Pintu Mohan Meranti District, Toba Samosir Regency, North Sumatra Province, has not been found.

The search for victims at the scene of the incident, Sunday (16/12) at around 17:00 WIB, was forced to stop because suddenly it rained heavily. However, extreme weather did not cause further landslides.

Efforts to get rid of the landslide material using five excavators, namely four units owned by the regional government and one unit owned by PT Inalum.

One victim buried by a landslide was found at the scene on Saturday (12/15), around 08.30 WIB. The victim was on behalf of Kasmer Marpaung (35), a resident of Halado Village.

After the victim was found, the number of residents was buried by a landslide that died nine people.

Survivors were five people, some of whom received treatment at the polyclinic and some returned home.

Landslides occurred on Wednesday (12/12) at around 23:30 WIB in Halado Village, precisely on the Sigura-gura Cross Road, Pintu Pohan Meranti District, Toba Samosir Regency. This disaster befell three houses.

Nine dead victims were under a pile of land in a house that was buried by a landslide. Some of them included Bantu Tambunan (70), Jones Tambunan (46), Nurcahaya boru Marpaung (40), Ahmadi Tambunan (23), Ambrin Tambunan (13), Sarlina boru Tambunan (19), Rosdiana boru Nainggolan (35), Nia boru Marpaung (14), and Kasmer Marpaung (35).

Five victims survived and sustained injuries, some of which were Jelly Marpaung (12) and Alpen Marpaung (5).
